The Narberth Havurah community comes together to connect around Jewish values, life and calendar cycles, and to do Tikkun Olam. In addition to Shabbat and Holiday gatherings, we come together for other religious, cultural, and social activities. We’ve gathered to bake challah, watch movies, discuss current events, and to make and serve meals at a homeless shelter. Havurah members’ vision of community is about showing up and working together – not just showing up for events (although it is that too), but also showing up for one another in times of need and collectively for our broader community.
In that spirit, we ask that each member or member family commit to working on at least one Havurah event during the year. Whether it is a Friday night service, a holiday, a Tikkun Olam event, or a social activity, we ask members to choose something that will be meaningful for you and to help make it a reality. We will work closely with you in planning the event, so you will have plenty of support, and we’d be happy to partner you with another Havurah member or family to organize and host any event.
