Community Shabbat Potluck and Kickoff to the New Year

September 8, 2017 @ 6:00 pm – 8:45 pm
Merion Friends Activity Building
615 Montgomery Avenue 19066

Join us for our first Community Shabbat Celebration of the new year, open to current members and all interested!  We’ll gather at the Merion Friends Activity Building, beginning our program at 6:00 with a potluck. dinner that incorporates the Shabbat rituals of candle lighting, and blessing the challah and wine.  Following dinner at these monthly gatherings, we engage in an activity appropriate for all ages.  This month, as we reconnect and meet new people joining us for the first time, we’ll engage in some “getting to know you” activities to reestablish old connections and welcome in new ones.

For those who would like to stay beyond 8:00, this gathering will conclude with adult study led by member Eileen Abrahms, focusing on the spiritual practices in the month of Elul,   a time for preparing for the High Holidays ahead.

Please click here to RSVP and to sign up for a dish to bring. Your RSVP helps us plan the event. We ask that all food be labeled, so that those who have food sensitivities, keep kosher, or are vegetarian will know what is in them.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 8th!
