Preparing Your Heart for the High Holidays
In our Jewish calendar, each month is said to hold particular spiritual meaning and potential, based on the holidays, Torah readings, and historical events that occur within and around it. The month of Elul (which begins 9/3), before the High Holidays begin,is set aside for reflection and is the start of the annual cycle of a return to wholeness, to our inner essence, and to actualizing our potential. Join us for a morning workshop, led by Rabbi Simcha and Havurah member Eileen Abrahms, of learning, meditation, chant, and discussion as we explore the themes of the High Holidays, and the ideas and spiritual practices that will make them more meaningful and relevant to our lives.
9:30 – 10:00 am: Bagels, coffee, time to “schmooze”!
10:00 – Noon Workshop
Please rsvp by e-mailing Rabbi Simcha at firstname.lastname@example.org, and she will send you the address to her home in Mt. Airy, where the workshop will take place.
