The Narberth Havurah is a unique, growing and grounded Jewish community that began in 1999. If you are intrigued by the idea of an engaged community, one developing its heart, working on peace and equality, and focused on the well-being of our whole planet, we encourage you to get in touch and become part of what has us so excited!

A havurah (fellowship) is a small group of people practicing Judaism and creating community together. We engage in nonjudgmental, egalitarian Judaism that embraces all kinds of learning. Our membership includes young and old, singles and couples, and people of all sexual orientations, races and ethnic backgrounds. A cornerstone of our community is to support those who have been excluded: Both partners of mixed-faith couples will find a spiritual home here. We also welcome those who are just beginning to explore Judaism, those returning to it, and those who have had various practices in their lifetimes.
We are a community focused on developing our compassion; we are about tikkun olam (repair of the world) and truly heartfelt prayer, meditation and study for youth and adults. We employ various techniques, including chi gong, meditation, and chant to help us to move out of our heads and into our hearts. Our hope and goal is to meet the needs of children, families and adults with our programs. We are a founding force behind the Narberth Interfaith Council, sincerely embracing within our own midst the principles of diversity, participation, and careful listening.
